Jonathan Allen may be the most talented member of the Crimson Tide’s vaunted front seven. His style of play is reminiscent of current Atlanta Falcon and former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Adrian Clayborn. Allen is a very athletic defensive lineman, but his play needs a bit more creativity as he moves forward. He has plenty of juice in his lower body and impressive acceleration for a 280 pound player. He’s been extremely productive for the Tide racking up eleven sacks despite playing just 40% of the defensive snaps.
Below is a breakdown of Jonathan Allen’s game against the LSU Tigers. The video helps paint a picture of a player who clearly has the athleticism to be an impact defender at the next level, but he needs some refinement.
